My passion is helping people. I entered the field of Human Resources wanting to create a better experience for people in the workplace. As I complete my Master’s in Counselling Psychology, I see this as a natural evolution to my 25 years in HR. I have always been a champion of mental health awareness and wellness and have enjoyed the last 15 years in settlement and integration, helping newcomers realize their power and potential. Focusing on mood disorders such as anxiety and depression, as well as grief, trauma, and loss, I hope to combine my HR background with person-centered therapy, specializing in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy (SFT), emotion-focused therapy (EFT) and existential therapy. I look forward to helping both men and women of the dominant population, as well as racialized people, find their voice and regain their confidence both in their personal and professional lives.

Ward is a registered Clinical Counsellor (CCC) and works from a person-centered narrative approach which takes into account that people do not exist in a vacuum and are products of our society which can create problems in our lives. Narrative therapy is clear in its approach and helps move clients forward with the phrase “The person is not the problem, rather the problem is the problem.” which can bring possibility and hope to his sessions. With respectful, genuine and curious exploration and discovery, we can uncover your own personal strengths, beliefs, values, commitments and abilities which are all a part of the unique human that is you. It is these abilities that we can work with to change your relationship with the issues in your life. With a supportive, non judgmental, and open minded approach we can explore the issues and gain new and fresh insight. The people who see Ward in therapy tend to develop a deeper understanding of themselves, their situation, their connection to people around them, and how they can move forward to create new meanings.
